Film Video #2

This video was about the significance of Charles Chaplin. Charles was from London, UK and began performing as an actor from a young boy. He started directing his films from a young age as well. He is considered one of the most important figures of the film industry. He rose to fame in the silent era, and Co-founded the distribution company (United Artists). He wrote, produced, directed, edited, and starred in most of his films! He was a man of great value and had lots of success. Film is so well respected in todays society because of honorable people like Charles Chaplin.

The Early Days of Film

In the early 1800's important people like Thomas Edison (US) and The Lumier Brothers (EU) had huge contributions to the early days for film making. Theatrical cinema became more popular than stage theatre because the things that were shown in film were impossible to show on a stage. It gave the director to have the freedom of angles, lighting, locations. It gave the audience a whole new feeling. I'm very thankful for all the success film making has had because without it I wouldn't be able to enjoy all the beautiful films my eyes get to see today!
